Water Retention Gel – What is it?

Water retention gel is a function powder polymer that can absolute & retain water and turn to water gel like this :

What amazing thing is that this water gel can keep the water when the soil is dry and release water back to plants’ root! That means that water retentiol gel just like a “mini-reservoir”. So it can save the irrigation, increase crops and fruit yield.

Recently I read a article that teach us to make our plants better with the polymer in the paper diaper.And there is a video showing the method:

But I want to say that this is not a good way for plants– The gel polymer from paper diapers is sodium polyacrylate and will let the soil harden.
